Metam launches Engy, the AI agent built to run engineering firms from bid to close

Engineering firms don’t struggle with data. They struggle with execution. Engy is built to change that.
Metam today announced the global launch of Engy, an AI agent purpose-built for engineering firms. Engy operates as a single interface that orchestrates a set of specialized agents, each responsible for functions across project delivery, including bid management, project controls, finance, procurement, compliance, and administration.
Built on deep domain expertise in engineering, Engy supports firms across the full project lifecycle – from first bid to final invoice – through simple conversation.
Early interest has come from firms across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, reflecting demand for solutions that reduce administrative overhead and improve project performance.
Engy connects to existing systems via secure APIs, including ERP, project management, finance, and document platforms. It does not require system replacement or data migration. Once connected, teams can interact with Engy using natural language to retrieve information, trigger workflows, and complete tasks.
The platform combines large language models with structured engineering data and workflow logic to execute actions, not just generate responses. This allows Engy to operate within the constraints and processes that engineering firms already rely on.
Engy reflects industry-specific structures and terminology, including work breakdown structures, progress billing, change orders, earned value, and holdbacks.
The problem Engy addresses
Engineering firms typically operate on margins between 8 and 15 percent. Project overruns directly impact profitability, while delivery teams spend a significant portion of their time on non-engineering tasks such as updating spreadsheets, managing documentation, processing invoices, and tracking compliance.
Traditional software systems are widely adopted, but they depend on structured input and manual processes. They capture data but do not act on it.
Engy is designed to act on that data, reducing manual effort and improving execution across projects.
What Engy does
Engy supports key phases of the engineering lifecycle, including:
- Bid and proposal management
- Project planning and controls
- Cost tracking and financial management
- Procurement and supplier coordination
- Revenue recognition and billing
- Compliance, health and safety documentation
- Day-to-day administrative tasks
Users interact through a single interface, while underlying agents handle task execution across systems.
Projected impact
Based on industry benchmarks and internal modelling, Engy is designed to deliver:
- 60 to 80 percent reduction in repetitive administrative work
- 30 to 50 percent reduction in budget overruns
- 3 to 5 percentage point improvement in gross margin
- Document compliance rates exceeding 95 percent
- Billing cycles reduced by 5 to 10 days
Data security and compliance
Engy is designed to meet regional data protection requirements, including GDPR, PIPEDA, Loi 25, and CCPA/CPRA.
Client data is hosted on Microsoft Azure, remains isolated by each organisation, and is not used to train models outside the client environment. The platform supports secure access controls and system-level integration without exposing underlying data.
What the team is saying
“Engineering firms are full of talented people spending too much of their day on admin and system management. We built Engy to take that off their plate. It plugs into what firms already use and actually does the work, not just surfaces the data. At Metam, we believe this is what modern engineering firms should expect from their technology,” said Amine Romdhane, Data & AI Manager at Metam.
